It wasn’t a strong smell so you could barely smell it in my car , the wooden lids came with a small crack in them and then when hung in car it became bigger so had to take out of the car as was worried it would just break when driving and spill everywhere. Same thing with another I had bought, the only time you could smell them was when tipped upside down to saturate the wooden lids
